Paula Karanja is a Nairobi-based Animation Filmmaker and Visual Artist.

​Specialising in Creative Direction, Art Direction and 2D Animation for Animation, Games, XR, and Graphic Applications.

With a strong focus on allegorical storytelling, speculative writing and world-building, her work delves into a more comprehensive examination of traditional and modern Pan-African identities, cultures and human behaviour.

In addition to her creative work, Paula is an Animation Adjunct Lecturer, guiding and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers with a focus on Design, 2D Animation and Animation History.
